Over the past month, Alpha Phi has been an extremely active force on Pepperdine’s campus!
Our philanthropy, Eat Your Heart Out, was held last February, and it was a huge success, raising nearly $11,000! One hundred percent of the proceeds went directly to the Alpha Phi Foundation, which supports Cardiac Care.
The following weekend, we spent time bonding on our biannual sisterhood retreat, held this semester at the Mount Pali Retreat. We hiked, zip-lined, and cooked s’mores together; it was a great way to get to know our sisters even better and grow closer as we had to rely on and trust each other in the midst of various ropes courses and other challenging activities.
In addition, Alpha Phi’s social involvement over the past few weeks has been quite memorable! We have had a mixer hike with Delta Tau Delta, and two date nights, one to the Santa Monica Pier where we received all-access wristbands for the rides, and more recently, a girl’s night at Crumbs with Tri-delt!
This was a welcome reward, having just come off of three weeks of Songfest dance practice and shows! We were honored this year to perform in Songfest with the lovely men of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Pepperdine Alpha Phi’s third annual Mother-Daughter Tea was held the next day for all the mothers that flew in to town for Songfest, and it was a hit! We enjoyed a brunch-style morning, complete with fun games, raffles, and a senior recognition video.
Overall, the past month in the life of an Alpha Phi has been both exciting and memorable, to say the least!
